Objects that carry memory,
made to last lifetimes.

Nexmerce is a slow-culture studio bridging natural textures, timeless silhouettes, and artisan communities. We create for those who value intention over trends — each piece an echo of patience and quiet strength.

Our ethos: slow,
radical, responsible.

We believe that true beauty emerges from honest materials and unhurried making. Nexmerce rejects mass production in favor of small-batch manufacturing, natural dyes, and zero-waste principles.

From the ceramic studios of Shigaraki to linen weavers in Normandy, our pieces are shaped by human hands and a deep respect for the environment. Every seam, every glaze, every fiber tells a story of collaboration and care.

“To live with Lúmma is to choose slowness — a radical act in a disposable world.”

Mika Sorensen & Kenji Yamamoto

Founders · creative directors

Nexmerce was born in 2021 after years of traveling between Brooklyn’s design scene and Kyoto’s artisan quarters. Mika, a textile researcher, and Kenji, a ceramicist, envisioned a label that unites Scandinavian simplicity with Japanese wabi-sabi — impermanent, imperfect, complete.

Today, our studio works with 14 independent craftspeople across three continents. We personally visit each workshop, ensuring transparency and mutual growth. Every Lúmma piece is signed by its maker, bridging distance with intimacy.

We don't call ourselves a brand. We are a gathering of makers, thinkers, and quiet rebels.
